Powa,7 days retreat with Lama Zeupa
Pratique de Vajrayana-tantra - Teaching will be given in English with translation into French and, if needed into Dutch
The practice of Powa, or “transference of consciousness,” is associated with Amitabha Buddha and his pure field, Dewatchen. Although generally presented as a yoga preparing our consciousness to free itself at the moment of death, the practice of Powa is also a profound means of developing, throughout our lives, the qualities necessary for Awakening such as the clarity of the mind, its stability and its detachment. Powa is a practice specific to Vajrayana and therefore requires direct transmission from a lama. This advanced practice was traditionally transmitted during long-term retreats.
However, for several years, the lamas of the Institute have decided to teach the practice of Powa as part of a week-long retreat. This is open to everyone. However, it is preferable to be open to the Vajrayana approach of Buddhist teaching involving the existence of the mind and the subtle body, the practice relying on the functioning of the latter. It is also advisable to stay for the entire duration of the retreat in order to carry out the practice in a conducive setting.
